Automatic Sliding Gates
The sliding gate is particularly useful in situations where swing gates are not practical.
Whilst wheeled gates running on a track are the cheaper option the trackless cantilever
type sliding gate may prove more cost effective, particularly where uneven ground
levels may require costly levelling.
Above Ground (EM Ram)
On the right is a typical above ground or electro-mechanical ram system for swing
gates. This system is relatively inexpensive and easy to install, the units are however,
noticeable and may detract from the overall aesthetic appearance of the gates. This
system is especially suited for retro-fitting to existing installations.
Underground
A typical underground swing gate kit is illustrated on the right, this is more discrete
than the above ground units with the actuators being below ground, however, this
system is more expensive to purchase and install, possibly requiring special drainage
arrangements. Hydraulic and electro-mechanical units are available.
Automation of your gates can provide that extra element of sophistication and security
to your property. It may also be desirable in situations where you may not wish to
leave your vehicle to open and close gates manually, such as, busy main roads and
dark or secluded locations.
There are units available for the automation of both
swing and sliding gates. Swing
gates may be automated by utilising either above ground (swing-arm) or underground
units. Intercom units are also available to provide even greater security.
Retro-fitting of automation may be possible where the
condition and standard of the gates and posts or masonry is suitable.
As we also provide a home maintenance and small building service, we are capable
of carrying out all the necessary excavation, ground work and construction required
to install automated swing or sliding gates. We will also, if you wish, arrange for
the electrical installation.
Manual Sliding Gates
The track, wheels and guides used for automatic sliding gates can also be utilised
for manually operated sliding gates. The gate pictured on the right is manually operated
and runs easily enough that all of the employees can open the gate with a minimum
of effort.
