Decorative sign for a prestige development in the Canton area of Cardiff.
Laser cut letters and a hand cut number are mounted on a mirror finish stainless steel plate.
Laser Cut Shapes and Decoration
Highly intricate and decorative shapes can be achieved in steel through the use of
computer controlled laser cutting.
Though we do not do laser cutting in-house we can arrange to have shapes of your
own design cut by Dragon Laser, based in Bridgend.
There are also many stock designs to choose from.
Though the designs illustrated are very intricate and to the customers own design
they are not enormously expensive. The designs shown were cut in 4mm Mild Steel plate
at a cost of around £25 each, and took about a week from ordering to delivery (May
2009, prices may rise or fall due to the market price of steel).
As well as for decoration in gates and applications such as this they are also used
for signs and weathervanes.
Why not make the most of the metal features inside your home as well as outside.
The RSJ above was turned into a feature through the simple addition of 20 mm (¾”) dummy bolts with diamond washers fixed from behind with countersunk screws.
The above is an example of a three section door. The left hand leaf is provided as a pedestrian entrance/exit and the sections on the right bi-fold to allow vehicles in and out.
It is also an illustration of where the lack of adherence of paint on galvanized steel can be an advantage as an overnight vandal attack was easily cleaned off, almost impossible on the wooden doors they replaced.
