Safety is an important provision especially where children are concerned, features include lockability, double drop bolts with extended retainers, throw over latches and safety railheads.
Garden ponds can be particularly dangerous for young children, a simple fence can prevent them from gaining unsupervised access to the water.
Bi-fold gates are ideal where ordinary swing gates or even sliding gates are not practical.
They are extremely useful for closing off a wide shallow entrance making them ideal for preventing children and pets from gaining access to the road.
They can also be used where a steep drive means that there would be a large gap beneath conventional gates. As each section is only half the length of a single leaf, the amount the gate has to clear is greatly reduced.
Special Features
There are many features which “off the peg” manufacturers cannot offer. These include the reproduction of existing metalwork, repair and restoration, and gates for awkward situations, such as Bi-fold gates, safety features and custom made fittings.
Manufacturers and suppliers of “off the peg kit gates” and flat packs are limited to the fittings offered by their suppliers, hence any “one off” fittings are either not possible or only at considerable extra cost. As we manufacture from “scratch” any special fittings such as offset hinges or custom latches can be designed in from the outset.
Custom fittings can also add to the security of you property, we manufacture our own proprietary lockable sliding bolt which can be provided with bolt diameters from 12 mm to 20 mm. It can easily be adapted to suit a wide range of situations and is totally reversible. The bolt can be easily retro-fitted to existing gates both single and double.

The drawing to the left illustrates how the bolt can be easily adjusted to accommodate a wide range of throw lengths.
The locking of the bolt is simplicity itself and the padlock can be easily accessed from both sides of the gate.
